The Bloomingdale Bulls had never played a football game after Thanksgiving. But on November 23, 2018, they made history as they entered into the 3rd round of the playoffs. Going against 2017’s State Champs, Venice High School, they played their all, ending the school’s best season in 31 years. The Bulls had only been to the playoffs twice prior and never past the first round.
Bloomingdale played its first football game in the fall of 1987 under Coach Coleman. It was a rocky start as a new school and a new team, going 0-10 in their flagship season. Over the next two decades, Bloomingdale Football struggled, playing under 10 different coaches and winning an average of 3 games per season. 2014 brought a renewed sense of hope under Coach Brian Surcy, with a strong quarterback, a 9-1 season, and playoffs in sight.
